Yes, I know I said I’d be off-line, but had to make some comment on this which is making news around the world: Hey Hey red-faced over blackface skit.

To me it really goes to show how pathetically insensitive some of us down here can be. One of the many times I’d rather not admit to being a resident of this land.

Back to my self-imposed electronic exile…with thanks again for your comments, wishes and prayers below.

    Yes, it is unfortunate when the ill-considered actions of a few have to be borne by the rest of the population. The whole idea of collective responsibility is an interesting one – and broadcasters should be more aware than most of the consequences of their actions.

    On another topic: there will be WORDS, Ian, if it comes to light that you have read this comment before your self-imposed exile officially comes to an end ;-)

    There were articles in the London newspapers about it. How embarrassing! I had my head down for a while. I just couldn’t believe it! I never really liked the show in the first place and now I remember why….

    On another note, I look forward to hearing from you when you resurface. I hope you are feeling refreshed and happier. My prayers are with you.
